Our exploration of modular homes started approximately 3 years ago; we compared and researched many manufacturers on-line; visited numerous manufacturer sites & models; and spoke with numerous sales personnel regarding pricing and quality. During the 3 years, our searches always brought us back to KBS as the workmanship, honesty of sales personnel and product quality was superb. Plus, we felt very comfortable with having every aspect of our questions and inquiries explained in detail.

We had our own ideas of what the layout of our modular needed to be to fit our current lifestyle and to function well for when we reach our retirement years (3' door openings, step-in, full shower stall, main floor laundry, etc.) From looking at the various modular floor plans, we decided on the Somerset, originally set as a 3 bedroom ranch. With the assistance and extreme patience of Don Tikander at KBS sales, we incorporated our own floor plan within the Somerset model. Don was exceptional in helping us to meet the exact specifications of what we envisioned for our home plus offering some suggestions that we had originally overlooked.

We've been in our home now for a little over 4 months and it couldn't be more comfortable if we had stick-built. The compliments that we have had with our utility contractors, friends, families and neighbors have been outstanding. The astonishment and surprise of their faces when we advise them that this is a KBS modular home absolutely floors them.

From start to finish, KBS has been there for us to answer our questions, assuring us that they want us to be completely satisfied with the finished product. A few service calls have been met expediently for minor cosmetic finishing and minor repairs.

We would highly recommend KBS staff and their homes to anyone who wishes to comfortably live in their home assured that it has been well built, exceeding energy efficient guidelines; and resting-assured that you have a superb, Maine/USA built home.
